Eduardo Nunez traded to Giants

Eduardo Nunez was traded by the Minnesota Twins to the San Francisco Giants on July 28, 2016. The Twins in exchange received Adalberto Mejia.

Nunez is a SS\3B\SS\OF who hit .296/.325/.439 with 12 HR, 47 RBI, 49 R, 27 SB in 91 games with the Twins in 2016. Over seven MLB seasons with the Twins and Yankees he hit .274/.312/.401 with 30 HR, 167 RBI, 200 R, 92 SB in 505 games. He originally signed with the Yankees in 2004 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Nunez turned 29 on June 15.

LHP Adalberto Mejia had split 2016 between Double A Richmond and Triple A Sacramento. He was 3-2, 1.94 ERA, 58 K, 0.98 WHIP, .203 BAA in 65.0 IP over 11 games at Richmond and 4-1, 4.20 ERA, 43 K, 1.30 WHIP, .263 BAA in 40.2 IP over 7 games at Sacramento.  He originally signed with the Giants in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Mejia turned 23 on June 20.
