Wade Miley traded to Orioles

Wade Miley was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Baltimore Orioles on July 31, 2016. The Mariners in exchange received Ariel Miranda.

LHP Wiley split 2016 between Class A Everett while rehabbing and the Mariners. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 7 K, 0.00 WHIP, .000 BAA in 4.0 IP in 1 game at Everett and 7-8, 4.98 ERA, 82 K, 1.35 WHIP, .274 BAA in 112.0 IP over 19 games. Over six MLB seasons with the Mariners, Red Sox and Diamondbacks he was 56-54, 4.07 ERA, 728 K, 1.34 WHIP, .266 BAA in 944.1 IP over 157 games with 153 GS. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the 43rd pick of the first round in 2008. Wiley turned 29 on November 13.

LHP Miranda had split 2016 between Triple A Norfolk and the Orioles. He was 4-7, 3.93 ERA, 87 K, 1.25 WHIP, .249 BAA in 100.2 IP over 19 games at Norfolk and 0-0, 13.50 ERA, 4 K, 2.00 WHIP, .364 BAA in 2.0 IP in 1 game with the Orioles. He originally signed with the Orioles in 2015 as an amateur free agent out of Cuba. Miranda turned 27 on January 10.
