David Carpenter traded to Nationals

David Carpenter was traded by the New York Yankees to the Washington Nationals on June 11, 2015. The Yankees in exchange received Joe Renda. 

RHP Carpenter was 0-1, 4.82 ERA, 11 K, 1.45 WHIP, .286 BAA in 18.2 IP over 22 games with the Yankees. Over five MLB seasons with the Nationals, Yankees, Braves, Blue Jays and Astros he is 11-11, 3.66 ERA, 216 K, 1.34 WHIP, .261 BAA, 4 SV in 211.1 IP over 218 games. He was originally drafted by the Cardinals in the 12th round in 2006. Carpenter turned 30 on July 15.

Renda is a second baseman who hit .267/.333/.340 with 1 HR, 23 RBI, 31 R, 13 SB in 54 games at Double A Harrisburg, He was originally drafted by the Nationals in the second round in 2012. Renda turned 24 on January 24.
