Jake Thompson International League POY 2016

Jake Thompson of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs was selected the International League Pitcher of the Year for 2016. This season the RHP was 11-5, 2.50 ERA, 87 K, 1.10 WHIP, .225 BAA in 129.2 IP over 21 games at Lehigh Valley and 3-6, 5.70 ERA, 32 K, 1.51 WHIP, .265 BAA in 53.2 IP over 10 games with Phillies. Lehigh Valley is the Triple A team of the Philadelphia Phillies. He was originally drafted by the Tigers in the second round in 2012, was traded to the Rangers in 2014 and traded to the Phillies in 2015. Thompson turned 22 on January 31.
