Trevor Clifton of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans was selected the Carolina League Pitcher of the Year for 2016. This season the RHP was 7-7, 2.72 ERA, 129 K, 1.16 WHIP, .225 BAA in 119.0 IP over 23 games. Myrtle Beach is the Class A Advanced team of the Chicago Cubs. He was originally drafted by the Cubs in the 12th round in 2013. Clifton turned 21 on May 11.
