Trea Turner September 2016 NL Rookie of the Month
Trea Turner of the Washington Nationals was selected the National League Rookie of the Month for September 2016. During the month the 2B\OF hit 38 for 115, .330/.358/.591 with 5 2B, 2 3B, 7 HR, 16 RBI, 17 R, 13 SB and 5 BB in 27 games. It was a repeat performance as he also earned the award in August. This season he hit .342/.370/.567 with 13 HR, 40 RBI, 53 R, 33 SB in 73 games with 73 games with the Nationals and .302/.370/.471 with 6 HR, 33 RBI, 61 R, 25 SB in 83 games at Triple A Syracuse. Over two MLB seasons with the Nationals he has hit .329/.361/.539 with 14 HR, 41 RBI, 58 R, 35 SB in 100 games. He was originally drafted by the Padres with the 13th pick of the first round in 2014 and was traded to the Nationals in 2015. Turner turned 23 on June 30.
