Luis Castillo Florida State League POY 2016

Luis Castillo of the Jupiter Hammerheads was selected the Florida State League Pitcher of the Year for 2016. This season the RHP was 8-4, 2.07 ERA, 91 K, 0.96 WHIP, .219 BAA in 117.2 IP over 23 games at Jupiter and 0-2, 3.86 ERA, 12 K, 1.36 WHIP, .218 BAA in 14.0 IP over 3 games at Double A Jacksonville. Jupiter is the Class A Advanced team of the Miami Marlins. He originally signed with the Giants in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic and was traded to the Marlins in 2014. Castillo turned 23 on December 12.
