Jorge Posada retires

Jorge Posada announced his retirement from playing baseball in January 2012. He was originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the 24th round in 1990 out of Calhoun Community College in Decatur, GA. The Puerto Rico native played catcher and first base for 17 seasons with the Yankees. He played on four World Series Championship teams with the Yankees in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2009. He made five All Star teams in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2007. For his career he hit .273/.374/.474 with 275 home runs, 1065 RBI, 900 runs and 20 steals in 1829 games.
