Danys Baez retires
Danys Baez announced his retirement from playing baseball in February 2012. He originally signed with the Indians as an amateur free agent in 1999 out of Cuba. He pitched three seasons with the Indians, two with the Devil Rays, split 2006 with the Dodgers and Braves, two with the Orioles and his final two with the Phillies. For his career he was 40-57 with a 4.25 ERA, 505 strikeouts, 1.13 WHIP and 114 saves in 697 innings over 533 games. He had one All Star selection in 2005 while with the Devil Rays.
