2011 Where are they now 2007 MLB draft picks 86 to 90

Earlier I looked at how the first round players from the 2007 draft did during the 2011 season. Yet teams aren't only stocked with former first round picks. Now I'm going to check how players from the second round in 2007 did looking at picks 86 to 90. Traditionally players drafted out of college advance faster than those drafted out of high school and pitchers usually advance faster than position players. Some players might also be traded to help their team get an established player that can help their team improve immediately.

The Los Angeles Dodgers drafted LHP Michael Watt 86th out of Capistrano High School in California. He was traded to the Padres in 2008. He split 2011 between Class A Advanced and Triple A. He was 6-9 with a 5.36 ERA, 119 strikeouts and 1.54 WHIP in 124.1 innings over 26 games at Class A Advanced and was 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA, three strikeouts and 1.20 WHIP in 5 innings in one game at Triple A.

The San Diego Padres drafted outfielder Bradley Chalk 87th out of Clemson. He was selected by the Pirates in the Rule 5 minor league draft in December 2010. He played 2011 at Double A and hit .244/.311/.308 with zero home runs, 36 RBI, 23 runs and 4 steals in 97 games.

The Toronto Blue Jays drafted outfielder Eric Eiland 88th out of Lamar High School in Texas. He was released by the Blue Jays in 2011 but played in the independent North America League where hit .325/.406/.505 with 11 home runs, 37 RBI, 66 runs and 14 steals in 77 games.

The Chicago White Sox drafted RHP Nevin Griffith 89th out of Middleton High School in Florida. He pitched 2011 at Double A and was 5-9 with a 6.23 ERA, 85 strikeouts and 1.82 WHIP in 108.1 innings over 25 games.

The Oakland Athletics drafted shortstop Joshua Horton 90th out of North Carolina. He returned from a shoulder injury in 2011 and split the season between one game at Double A and the rest at Tiple A. He was hitless in three at bats at Double A and hit .217/.282/.283 with one home run, 14 RBI, eight runs and 2 steals in 26 games at Triple A.
