2011 Where are they now 2007 MLB draft picks 71 to 75

Earlier I looked at how the first round players from the 2007 draft did during the 2011 season. Yet teams aren't only stocked with former first round picks. Now I'm going to check how players from the second round in 2007 did looking at picks 71 to 75. Traditionally players drafted out of college advance faster than those drafted out of high school and pitchers usually advance faster than position players. Some players might also be traded to help their team get an established player that can help their team improve immediately.

The St Louis Cardinals drafted RHP David Kopp 71st out of Clemson. He split 2011 between Double A and Triple A. He was 3-5 with a 5.95 ERA, 40 strikeouts, 1.55 WHIP and 4 saves in 65 innings over 23 games at Double A and was 0-0 with a 7.00 ERA, eight strikeouts and 2.00 WHIP in 9 innings over eight games at Triple A.

The Colorado Rockies drafted outfielder Brian Rike 72nd out of Louisiana Tech. He played 2011 at Double A and hit .252/.319/.464 with 13 home runs, 37 RBI, 30 runs and 2 steals in 82 games.

The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted RHP Barry Enright 73rd out of Pepperdine. He split 2011 between Triple A and the Diamondbacks. He was 9-5 with a 5.21 ERA, 86 strikeouts and 1.38 WHIP in 122.2 innings over 21 games at Triple A and was 1-4 with a 7.41 ERA, 21 strikeouts and 1.73 WHIP in 37.2 innings over seven games with the Diamondbacks.

The Oakland Athletics drafted outfielder Gregory Desme 74th out of Cal Polu San Luis Obispo. He left baseball to enter the priesthood in 2010.

The Seattle Mariners drafted outfielder Denny Almonte 75th out of Florida Christian School in Florida. He played 2011 at Class A Advanced and hit .268/.298/.490 with 24 home runs, 97 RBI, 75 runs and 18 steals in 128 games.
