Earlier I looked at how the first round players from the 2007 draft did during the 2011 season. Yet teams aren't only stocked with former first round picks. Now I'm going to check how players from the second round in 2007 did looking at picks 91 to 94. Traditionally players drafted out of college advance faster than those drafted out of high school and pitchers usually advance faster than position players. Some players might also be traded to help their team get an established player that can help their team improve immediately.
The Detroit Tigers drafted shortstop Daniel Worth 91st out of Pepperdine. He split 2011 between Triple A and the Tigers. He hit .256/.338/.421 with eight home runs, 37 RBI, 45 runs and 13 steals in 86 games at Triple A and hit .270/.308/.324 with zero home runs, three RBI, six runs and zero steals in 30 games with the Tigers.
The Minnesota Twins drafted catcher Daniel Rams 92nd out of Gulliver Preparatory in Florida. He played 2011 at Class A Advanced and hit .239/.310/.388 with eight home runs, 42 RBI, 32 runs and zero steals in 87 games.
The New York Mets drafted Brent Rustich 93rd out of UCLA. He missed the 2011 season after surgery for a nerve condition.
The New York Yankees drafted catcher Austin Romine 94th out of El Toro High School in California. He split 2011 between Double A, Triple A and the Yankees. He hit .286/.351/.378 with six home runs, 47 RBI, 43 runs and 2 steals in 85 games at Double A, hit .133/.133/.133 with zero home runs, one RBI, one run and zero steals in four games at Triple A and hit .158/.200/.158 with zero home runs, zero RBI, two runs and zero steals in nine games with the Yankees.
