Mike Carp traded to Red Sox
Mike Carp was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Boston Red Sox on February 20, 2013 in exchange for a player to be named later or cash. Carp is a 1B\OF with four seasons MLB experience playing all with the Mariners. He split 2012 between Class A Advanced High Desert, Triple A Tacoma and the Mariners. He hit .667/.727/1.111 with 1 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R, 1 SB in 2 games at High Desert, hit .223/.286/.324 with 2 HR, 17 RBI, 13 R, 1 SB in 35 games at Tacoma and hit .213/.312/.341 with 5 HR, 20 RBI, 17 R, 1 SB in 59 games with the Mariners. For his MLB career he has hit .255/.327/.413 with 18 HR, 71 RBI, 52 R, 1 SB in 173 games. He was originally drafted by the Mets in the ninth round in 2004. Carp will be 27 on June 30.
