2012 NL All Star Starters

Here are the National League starters for the 2012 All Star as voted by the fans:


Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants was selected at catcher. In 2012 he is hitting .295/.365/.466 with 10 HR, 43 RBI, 33 R and 1 SB in 74 games. For his career he is hitting .294/.357/.463 with 32 HR, 131 RBI, 109 R and 4 SB in 234 games. This is his first All Star selection He was originally drafted by the Giants with the fifth pick of the first round in 2008.


Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds was selected at first base. In 2012 he is hitting .345/.464/.619 with 14 HR, 47 RBI, 50 R and 4 SB in 80 games. For his career he is hitting .316/.412/.558 with 133 HR, 448 RBI, 419 R and 40 SB in 697 games. This is his third All Star selection. He was originally drafted by the Reds in the second round in 2002.


Dan Uggla of the Atlanta Braves was selected at second base. In 2012 he is hitting .225/.355/.475 with 11 HR, 43 RBI, 52 R and 0 SB in 81 games. For his career he is hitting .256/.344/.475 with 201 HR, 590 RBI, 639 R and 20 SB in 1018 games. This is his third All Star selection. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the 11th round in 2001.


Pablo Sandoval of the San Francisco Giants was selected at third base. In 2012 he is hitting .315/.372/.503 with 7 HR, 28 RBI, 28 R and 0 SB in 48 games. For his career he is hitting .308/.358/.501 with 71 HR, 275 RBI, 247 R and 10 SB in 511 games. This is his third All Star selection. He originally signed with the Giants as an amateur free agent in 2003 out of Venezuela.


Rafael Furcal of the St Louis Cardinals was selected at shortstop. In 2012 he is hitting .274/.339/.364 with 5 HR, 32 RBI, 54 R and 9 SB in 80 games. For his career he is hitting .282/.348/.406 with 113 HR, 568 RBI, 1044 R and 311 SB in 1564 games. This is his third All Star selection. He was originally signed by teh Braves as an amateur free agent in 1996 out of the Dominican Republic.


Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers was selected in the outfield. In 2012 he is hitting .355/.444/.719 with 12 HR, 28 RBI, 30 R and 2 SB in 36 games. For his career he is hitting .296/.354/.505 with 140 HR, 485 RBI, 494 R and 146 SB in 823 games. This is his second All Star selection. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the sixth round in 2003.


Carlos Beltran of the St Louis Cardinals was selected in the outfield. In 2012 he is hitting .306/.394/.563 with 20 HR, 65 RBI, 50 R and 8 SB in 79 games. For his career he is hitting .284/.362/.499 with 322 HR, 1211 RBI, 1234 R and 301 SB in 1847 games. This is his seventh All Star selection. He was originally drafted by the Royals in the second round in 1995.


Melky Cabrera of the San Francisco Giants was selected in the outfield. In 2012 he is hitting .356/.395/.518 with 7 HR, 42 RBI, 54 R and 10 SB in 80 games. For his career he is hitting .283/.337/.410 with 65  HR, 399 RBI, 456 R and 81 SB in 951 games. This is his first All Star selection, He originally signed with the Yankees as an amateur free agent in 2001 out of the Dominican Republic.
