2012 AL All Star Starters

Here are the American League starters for the 2012 All Star as voted by the fans:


Mike Napoli of the Texas Rangers was selected at catcher. In 2012 he is hitting .233/.336/.431 with 12 HR, 30 RBI, 37 R and 0 SB in 71 games. For his career he is hitting .261/.356/.505 with 134 HR, 354 RBI, 355 R and 25 SB in 690 games. This is his first All Star selection. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the 17th round in 2000.


Prince Fielder of the Detroit Tigers was selected at first base. In 2012 he is hitting .298/.376/.490 with 13 HR, 58 RBI, 45 R and 1 SB in 83 games. For his career he is hitting .284/.388/.536 with 243 HR, 714 RBI, 616 R and 17 SB in 1081 games. This is his fourth All Star selection. He was originally drafted by the Brewers with the seventh pick of the first round in 2002.


Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees was selected at second base. In 2012 he is hitting .316/.375/.585 with 20 HR, 50 RBI, 55 R and 1 SB in 81 games. For his career he is hitting .308/.349/.502 with 164 HR, 671 RBI, 668 R and 29 SB in 1134 games. This is his third All Star selection. He originally signed with the Yankees as an amateur free agent in 2001 out of the Dominican Republic.


Adrian Beltre of the Texas Rangers was selected at third base. In 2012 he is hitting .325/.356/.521 with 14 HR, 53 RBI, 46 R and 1 SB in 79 games. For his career he is hitting .278/.330/.471 with 324 HR, 1166 RBI, 1040 R and 115 SB in 2038 games. This is his third All Star selection. He was originally signed by the Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 1994 out of the Dominican Republic.


Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees was selected at shortstop. In 2012 he is hitting .303/.351/.412 with 7 HR, 25 RBI, 43 R and 6 SB in 79 games. For his career he is hitting .313/.382/.448 with 247 HR, 1221 RBI, 1812 R and 345 SB in 2505 games. This is his 13th All Star selection. He was originally drafted by the Yankees with the sixth pick of the first round in 1992.


Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers was selected in the outfield. In 2012 he is hitting .316/.386/.646 with 26 HR, 74 RBI, 53 R and 6 SB in 76 games. For his career he is hitting .309/.368/.554 with 144 HR, 499 RBI, 421 R and 42 SB in 665 games. This is his fifth All Star selection. He was originally drafted by the Devil Rays with the first over all pick in 1999.


Curtis Granderson of the New York Yankees was selected in the outfield. In 2012 he is hitting .241/.344/.498 with 23 HR, 48 RBI, 56 R and 6 SB in 81 games. For his career he is hitting .265/.345/.493 with 190 HR, 533 RBI, 703 R and 110 SB in 1047 games. This is his third All Star selection. He was originally drafted by the Tigers in the third round in 2002.


Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays was selected in the outfield. In 2012 he is hitting .243/.356/.541 with 27 HR, 64 RBI, 57 R and 4 SB in 83 games. For his career he is hitting .253/.362/.487 with 183 HR, 502 RBI, 512 R and 36 SB in 968 games. This is his third All Star selection. He was originally drafted by the Pirates in the 20th round in 2000.


David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox was selected at DH. In 2012 he is hitting .302/.391/.607 with 22 HR, 55 RBI, 60 R and 0 SB in 81 games. For his career he is hitting .284/.379/.547 with 400 HR, 1321 RBI, 1119 R and 11 SB in 1823 games. This is his eighth All Star selection. He originally signed with the Mariners as an amateur free agent in 1992 out of the Dominican Republic.
