Steve Delabar traded to Blue Jays

Steve Delabar was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Toronto Blue Jays on July 30, 2012. In exchange the Mariners received Eric Thames.


RHP Delabar is in his second MLB season both with the Mariners. In 2012 he was 2-1 with a 4.17 ERA, 46 K, 0.93 WHIP in 36.2 IP over 34 games with Seattle. For his MLB career he is 3-2 with a 3.92 ERA, 53 K, 0.98 WHIP in 43.2 IP over 40 games.He was originally drafted by the Padres in the 29th round in 2003. Delabar turned 29 on July 17.


Thames is an outfielder in his second MLB season both with the Blue Jays. He has split 2012 between Triple A Las Vegas and Toronto. He hit .330/.407/.528 with 6 HR, 32 RBI, 31 R, 1 SB in 54 games with Las Vegas and hit .243/.288/.365 with 3 HR, 11 RBI, 17 R, 0 SB in 46 games with Toronto. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the seventh round in 2008.Thames will be 26 on November 10.
