Chris Johnson traded to Diamondbacks

Chris Johnson was traded by the Houston Astros to the Arizona Dimondbacks on July 29, 2012. In exchange the Astros received Marc Krauss and Bobby Borchering.


Johnson is a third baseman in this fourth MLB season playing all with the Astros. In 2012 he was hitting .279/.329/.428 with 8 HR, 41 RBI, 36 R, 4 SB in 92 games with Houston. For he MLB career he has hit .274/.314/.421 with 26 HR, 136 RBI, 109 R, 9 SB in 304 games. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the fourth round in  2006. Johnson will be 28 on October 1st.


Krauss is an outfielder who was playing with the Diamondbacks Double A team in Mobile. In 2012 he was hitting .283/.416/.509 with 15 HR, 61 RBI, 75 R, 6 SB in 104 games with Mobile. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the second round in 2009. Krauss will be 25 on October 5th.


Borchering is an outfielder who has split 2012 between the Diamondbacks Class A Advanced team in Visalia and their Double A team in Mobile. He hit .277/.340/.534 with 18 HR, 60 RBI, 47 R, 0 SB in 81 games with Visalia and hit .130/.183/.208 with 2 HR, 8 RBI, 4 R, 0 SB in 21 games with Mobile. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the 16th pick of the first round in 2009. Borchering will be 22 on October 25.
