Jeremy Guthrie traded to Royals

Jeremy Guthrie was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the Kansas City Royals on July 20, 2012. In exchange the Rockies receive Jonathan Sanchez.


RHP Guthrie has nine seasons of MLB experience with the Rockies, Orioles and Indians. In 2012 he is 3-9 with a 6.35 ERA, 45 K, 1.69 WHIP in 90.2 IP over 19 games. For his career he is 50-74 with a 4.37 ERA, 671 K, 1.32 WHIP in 1111.0 IP over 196 games. He was originally drafted by the Indians with the 22nd pick of the first round in 2002. Guthrie turned 33 on April 8th.


LHP Sanchez has seven season of MLB experience with the Royals and Giants. In 2012 he is 1-6 with a 7.76 ERA, 36 K, 2.04 WHIP in 53.1 IP over 12 games. For his career he is 39-52 with a 4.50 ERA, 772 K, 1.43 WHIP in 761.1 IP over 186 games. He was originally drafted by the Giants in the 27th round in 2004. Sanchez will be 30 on November 19.
