Paul Janish traded to Braves

Paul Janish was traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the Atlanta Braves on July 14, 2012. In exchange the Reds receive Todd Redmond.


Janish is a SS/3B/2B who had four seasons of MLB experience with the Reds. Prior to the trade he was with the Reds Triple A team Louisville where he hit .237/.332/.391 with 4 HR, 11 RBI, 27 R and 0 SB in 49 games. For his MLB career he has hit .220/.289/.300 with 7 HR, 71 RBI, 95 R and 6 SB in 329 games. He was originally drafted by the Reds in the fifth round in 2004. Janish will be 30 on October 12.


Redmond is a RHP who was with the Braves Triple A team Gwinnett. In 2012  he is 6-6 with a 3.58 ERA, 96 K, 1.28 WHIP in 105.2 IP over 18 games. He was originally drafted by the Pirates in the 39th round in 2004. Redmond turned 27 on May 17.
