Pedro Ciriaco Makes Red Sox History

Pedro Ciriaco's tenure with the Boston Red Sox is only four games old yet he has managed to accomplish a feat no one else in the franchise had done. Tonight he was 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and a steal while playing second base. That gave him three games in a row with at least three hits and a steal. He is the first in Red Sox history to do that. After four games with the Red Sox he is hitting .625/.647/.750 with 0 HR, 6 RBI, 4 R and 3 SB. He started the season with Triple A Pawtucket where he hit .301/.318/.406 with 4 HR, 21 RBI, 41 R and 14 SB in 64 games. He had some MLB time with the Pirates the previous two seasons and his career totals are .385/.407/.558 with 0 HR, 11 RBI, 11 R and 4 SB in 34 games. He originally signed with the Diamondbacks as an amateur free agent in 2003 out of the Dominican Republic. Ciriaco will be 27 on September 27.
