Niuman Romero of the Erie SeaWolves was 5 for 5 in a 1-2 victory over the Bowie Baysox on July 17. He was 5 for 5 with a double, RBI and run scored while playing shortstop. In 2012 he is hitting .316/.378/.444 with 6 HR, 51 RBI, 55 R and 11 SB in 92 games. Erie is the Double A team of the Detroit Tigers. He originally signed with the Indians as an amateur free agent in 2002 out of Venezuela. Romero turned 27 on January 24.
