Ray Olmedo 5 for 5 071712
Ray Olmedo of the Charlotte Knights was 5 for 5 in a 5-4 victory over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees on July 17. He was 5 for 5 with a double and RBI while playing shortstop. In 2012 he is hitting .277/.347/.339 with 0 HR, 18 RBI, 21 R and 9 SB in 71 games. He did have previous MLB experience with the Blue Jays and Reds and for his MLB career he hit .228/.276/.293 with 2 HR, 26 RBI, 45 R and 6 SB in 198 games. Charlotte is the Triple A team of the Chicago White Sox. He originally signed with the Reds as an amateur free agent in 1999 out of Venezuela. Olmedo turned 31 on May 31.
