Chad Qualls traded to Yankees

Chad Qualls was traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the New York Yankees on July 1, 2012 in exchange for a player to be named later or cash. RHP Qualls is in his ninth MLB season and has also played for the Padres, Rays, Diamondbacks and Astros. This season he is 1-1 with a 4.60 ERA, 19 K, 1.53 WHIP in 31.1 IP over 35 games. For his career he is 39-35 with a 3.82 ERA, 445 K, 1.28 WHIP and 51 saves in 574.1 IP over 572 games. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the second round in 2000. Qualls will be 34 on August 17.
