Bud Norris traded to Dodgers

Bud Norris was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 30, 2016 along with Dian Toscano, a PTBNL and cash. The Braves in exchange received Philip Pfeifer and Caleb Dirks.

RHP Norris was 3-7, 4.22 ERA, 60 K, 1.36 WHIP, .257 BAA in 70.1 IP over 22 games with 10 GS with the Braves in 2016. Over eight MLB seasons with the Braves, Padres, Orioles and Astros he is 59-75, 4.43 ERA, 970 K, 1.40 WHIP, .261 BAA in 1059.0 IP over 218 games with 176 GS. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the sixth round in 2006. Norris turned 31 on March 2nd.

Toscano is an outfielder who hit .226/.310/.271 with 0 HR, 10 RBI, 16 R, 2 SB in 58 games at Double A Mississippi in 2016. He originally signed with the Braves in 2015 as an amateur free agent out of Cuba. Toscano turned 27 on March 9th.

LHP Pfeifer was 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 9 K, 0.50 WHIP, .100 BAA in 6.0 IP over 3 games at Class A Great Lakes and 2-1, 3.33 ERA, 33 K, 1.56 WHIP, .241 BAA in 24.1 IP over 14 games at Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga in 2016. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the third round in 2015. Pfeifer will be 24 on July 15.

RHP Dirks was 3-2, 1.44 ERA, 35 K, 1.02 WHIP, .214 BAA, 6 SV in 31.1 IP over 28 games at Double A Tulsa in 2016. He was originally drafted by the Braves in the 15th round in 2014 and was traded to the Dodgers in 2015. Dirks turned 23 on June 9th.
