Justin Wilson traded to Tigers

Justin Wilson was traded by the New York Yankees to the Detroit Tigers on December 9, 2015. The Yankees in exchange received Chad Green and Luis Cessa. 

LHP Wilson was 5-0, 3.10 ERA, 66 K, 1.13 WHIP, .223 BAA in 61.0 IP over 74 games in 2015. Over five MLB seasons with the Tigers, Yankees and Pirates he is 14-5, 2.92 ERA, 204 K, 1.19 WHIP, .218 BAA in 206.2 IP over 218 games. He was originally drafted by the Pirates in the fifth round in 2008 and was traded to the Yankees in 2014. Wilson will be 29 on August 18.

RHP Green pitched at Double A Erie in 2015 where he was 5-14, 3.93 ERA, 137 K, 1.43 WHIP, .287 BAA in 148.2 IP over 27 games. He was originally drafted by the Tigers in the 11th round in 2013. Green will be 25 on May 24.

RHP Cessa split 2015 between Double A Binghamton, Triple A Las Vegas and Triple A Toledo. He was 7-4, 2.56 ERA, 61 K, 1.22 WHIP, .261 BAA in 77.1 IP over 13 games at Binghamton, 0-3, 8.51 ERA, 24 K, 1.81 WHIP, .354 BAA in 24.1 IP over 5 games at Las Vegas and 1-3, 5.97 ERA, 34 K, 1.62 WHIP, .307 BAA in 37.2 IP over 7 games at Toledo. He originally signed with the Mets in 2008 and was traded to the Tigers in July 2015. Cessa will be 24 on April 25.
