Jose Altuve n Mark Trumbo AL Players of Week 041116 to 041716

Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros and Mark Trumbo of the Baltimore Orioles were selected the American League Co-Players of the Week for the span of April 11, 2016 through April 17, 2016. 

For the week Altuve hit 11 for 27, .407/.484/.852 with 3 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 8 R, 2 SB and 4 BB. This season the second baseman is hitting .296/.377/.593 with 4 HR, 8 RBI, 13 R, 6 SB in 14 games. Over six MLB seasons with the Astros he has hit .305/.344/.418 with 40 HR, 234 RBI, 354 R, 175 SB in 681 games. He originally signed with the Astros in 2007 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Altuve will be 26 on May 6th.

For the week Trumbo hit 8 for 25, .320/.346/.960 with 1 2B, 5 HR, 11 RBI, 8 R, 0 SB and 0 BB. This season the outfielder is hitting .383/.420/.723 with 5 HR, 11 RBI, 11 R, 1 SB in 12 games. Over seven MLB seasons with the Orioles, Mariners, Diamondbacks and Angels he has hit .253/.302/.463 with 136 HR, 420 RBI, 327 R, 21 SB in 701 games. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the 18th round in 2004. Trumbo turned 30 on January 16.
