Evan Scribner traded to Mariners

Evan Scribner was traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Seattle Mariners on December 8, 2015. The Athletics in exchange received Trey Cochran-Gill.

RHP Scribner was 2-2, 4.35 ERA, 64 K, 1.03 WHIP, .251 BAA in 60.0 IP over 54 games with Athletics in 2015. Over five MLB seasons with the Athletics and Padres he was 5-2, 4.21 ERA, 134 K, 1.15 WHIP, .247 BAA, 1 SV in 147.2 IP over 125 games. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the 28th round in 2007, traded to the Padres in 2008 and selected by the Athletics off waivers in 2011. Scribner will be 31 on July 19.

RHP Cochran-Gill split 2015 between Class A Advanced Bakersfield, Double A Jackson and Triple A Tacoma. He was 2-1, 1.37 ERA, 18 K, 0.56 WHIP, .129 BAA, 2 SV in 19.2 IP over 10 games at Bakersfield, 4-3, 5.43 ERA, 30 K, 1.72 WHIP, .292 BAA, 4 SV in 53.0 IP over 34 games at Jackson and 0-1, 0.00 ERA, 3 K, 1.88 WHIP, .273 BAA in 2.2 IP in 1 game at Tacoma. He was originally drafted by the Mariners in the 17th round in 2014. Cochran-Gill turned 23 on December 10.
