UCLA 2 North Carolina State 1 CWS 2013 game 8

UCLA defeated North Carolina State 2-1 in the game eight winners bracket game at the College World Series in Omaha. Nick Vander Tuig continued the Bruin master plan of keeping pitches up in the zone and it kept the Wolfpack at bay as he only allowed four hits over seven innings. It was a cleaner game than their first but the Bruins still capitalized on the mistakes of others. Kevin Kramer  drove in Cody Regis in the fifth and Brenton Allen scored later in the inning on a wild pitch. North Carolina State did get on the board first in the third when Trea Turner knocked in Bryan Adametz but Jake Armstrong was tagged out at the plate. David Berg shut down the Wolfpack the final two innings to earn his 23rd save.
