Mississippi State defeated Indiana 5-4 in the winners bracket game six at the College World Series in Omaha. Trey Porter put the Bulldogs ahead for good in the eighth with a double that scored two to put them up 5-3. The Hoosiers were able to score one in the ninth which Chris Sujka scored as Scott Donley grounded out but couldn't manage any more to fall short. Chad Girodo entered the game in the third inning in relief and went 6.1 innings while striking out 10 to earn his ninth win of the season.
