North Carolina State beat top seed North Carolina 8-1 in the third game of the College World Series in Omaha. LHP Carlos Rodon kept the Tar Heel bats in check as he kept them hitless until the fifth inning and only allowed five hits over nine while striking out eight. The Wolfpack had their big offensive showing in the third when they scored four runs on five hits and a walk. Brett Williams, Bryan Adametz and Logan Ratledge all collected two hits for the Wolfpack. Brian Holbertson did have two of the five hits North Carolina had off Rodon.
