Eric Young Jr traded to Mets

Eric Young Jr was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the New York Mets on June 18, 2013. In exchange the Rockies received Collin McHugh.

Young is an outfielder and second baseman with five seasons MLB experience playing all with the Rockies. This season he has hit .242/.290/.352 with 1 HR, 6 RBI, 22 R, 8 SB in 57 games. For his MLB career he has hit .261/.329/.342 with 6 HR, 40 RBI, 125 R, 70 SB in 313 games. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the 30th round in 2003. Young turned 28 on May 25.

RHP McHugh has two seasons MLB experience with the Mets. He has split 2013 between Triple A Binghamton and the Mets. He was 3-2, 2.87 ERA, 41 K, 1.31 WHIP in 53.1 IP over 9 games at Binghamton and was 0-1, 10.29 ERA, 3 K, 2.14 WHIP in 7.0 IP over 3 games with the Mets. For his MLB career he is 0-5, 8.26 ERA, 20 K, 1.76 WHIP in 28.1 IP over 11 games. He was originally drafted by the Mets in the 18th round in 2008. McHugh will be 27 on June 19.
