Howie Kendrick traded to Phillies

Howie Kendrick was traded by the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Philadelphia Phillies on November 11, 2016. The Dodgers in exchange received Darin Ruf and Darnell Sweeney.

Kendrick is a 2B\1B\OF who split 2016 between Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga while rehabbing and the Dodgers. He hit 5 for 15, .333/.375/.533 with 0 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R, 1 SB in 4 games at Rancho Cucamonga and .255/.326/.366 with 8 HR, 40 RBI, 65 R, 10 SB in 146 games with the Dodgers. Over 11 MLB seasons with the Dodgers and Angels he hit .289/.332/.417 with 95 HR, 595 RBI, 663 R, 111 SB in 1344 games. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the 10th round in 2002 and was traded to the Dodgers in 2015. Kendrick turned 33 on July 12.

Ruf is a 1B\OF who split 2016 between Triple A Lehigh Valley and the Phillies. He hit .294/.356/.529 with 20 HR, 65 RBI, 56 R, 0 SB in 95 games at Lehigh Valley and .205/.236/.337 with 3 HR, 9 RBI, 8 R, 0 SB in 43 games with the Phillies. Over five MLB seasons with the Phillies he hit .240/.314/.433 with 35 HR, 96 RBI, 91 R, 1 SB in 286 games. He was originally drafted by the Phillies in the 20th round in 2009. Ruf turned 30 on July 28.

Sweeney is a 2B\3B who hit .233/.299/.345 with 6 HR, 35 RBI, 48 R, 12 SB in 118 games at Lehigh Valley in 2016. He did play 37 games with the Phillies in 2015 hitting 15 for 85, .176/.286/.353 with 3 HR, 11 RBI, 9 R and 0 SB. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 13th round in 2012 and was traded to the Phillies in 2015. Sweeney will be 26 on February 1st.
