Chase Utley traded to Dodgers

Chase Utley was traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 19, 2015 along with cash. The Phillies in exchange received John Richy and Darnell Sweeney.

Utley is a second baseman who hit .217/.284/.333 with 5 HR, 30 RBI, 23 R, 3 SB in 73 games with the Phillies in 2015. Over 13 MLV seasons with the Dodgers and Phillies has has hit .282/366/.481 with 233 HR, 916 RBI, 949 R, 142 SB in 1553 games. He was originally drafted by the Phillies with the 15th pick of the first round in 2000. Utley turned 36 on December 17.

RHP Richy pitched at Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga where he was 10-5, 4.20 ERA, 105 K, 1.42 WHIP, .288 BAA in 124.1 IP over 22 games with 18 GS. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the third round in 2014. Richy turned 23 on July 28.

Sweeney is a second baseman who played at Triple A Oklahoma City where he hit .271/.332/.409 with 9 HR, 49 RBI, 69 R, 32 SB in 116 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 13th round in 2012. Sweeney turned 24 on February 1st.
