Jon Edwards traded to Padres

Jon Edwards was traded by the Texas Rangers to the San Diego Padres on August 21, 2015 to complete an earlier deal. RHP Edwards had split 2015 between Triple A Round Rock and the Rangers. He was 2-1, 1.42 ERA, 44 K, 0.82 WHIP, .165 BAA, 20 SV in 31.2 IP over 32 games at Round Rock and 0-0, 6.00 ERA, 6 K, 2.33 WHIP, .273 BAA in 6.0 IP over 11 games with the Rangers. Over two MLB seasons with the Rangers he was 0-0, 5.02 ERA, 15 K, 2.23 WHIP, .322 BAA in 14.1 IP over 20 games. He was originally drafted by the Cardinals in the 14th round in 2006. Edwards turned 27 on January 8th.
