Cameron Maybin traded to Angels

Cameron Maybin was traded by the Detroit Tigers to the Los Angeles Angels on November 3, 2016. The Tigers in exchange received Victor Alcantara.

Maybin is an outfielder who split 2016 between Class A Advanced Lakeland and Triple A Toledo while rehabbing and with the Tigers. He hit 3 for 13, .231/.333/.385 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 3 R, 1 SB in 4 games at Lakeland, 16 for 85, .188/.310/.365 with 2 HR, 11 RBI, 14 R, 4 SB in 23 games at Toledo and .315/.383/.418 with 4 HR, 43 RBI, 65 R, 15 SB in 94 games with the Tigers. Over ten MLB seasons with the Tigers, Braves, Padres and Marlins he hit .259/.322/.373 with 46 HR, 252 RBI, 403 R, 131 SB in 796 games. He was originally drafted by the Tigers with the 10th pick of the first round in 2005. Maybin turned 29 on April 4th.

RHP Alcantara was 3-7, 4.30 ERA, 79 K, 1.47 WHIP, .255 BAA in 111.0 IP over 29 games with 20 GS at Double A Arkansas. He originally signed with the Angels in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Alcantara turned 23 on April 3rd.
