Jimmy Cordero traded to Nationals

Jimmy Cordero was traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Washington Nationals on November 23, 2016 for a PTBNL. The RHP split 2016 between Rookie Gulf Coast, Class A Advanced Clearwater, Double A Reading and Triple A Lehigh Valley. He was 0-0, 1.93 ERA, 7 K, 1.29 WHIP, .125 BAA in 4.2 IP over 4 games at Gulf Coast, 1-1, 5.63 ERA, 5 K, 1.38 WHIP, .267 BAA, 1 SV in 8.0 IP over 6 games at Clearwater, 1-1, 3.46 ERA, 6 K, 1.08 WHIP, .265 BAA, 1 SV in 13.0 IP over 11 games at Reading and 0-1, 27.00 ERA, 1 K, 4.50 WHIP, .500 BAA in 1.1 IP in 1 game at Lehigh Valley. He originally signed with the Blue Jays in 2012 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic and was traded to the Phillies in 2015. Cordero turned 25 on October 19.
