Ben Revere traded to Blue Jays

Ben Revere was traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Toronto Blue Jays on July 31, 2015 along with cash. The Phillies in exchange received Jimmy Cordero and Alberto Tirado.

Revere is an outfielder who hit .298/.334/.374 with 1 HR, 26 RBI, 49 R, 24 SB in 96 games with the Phillies in 2015. Over six MLB seasons with the Phillies and Twins he hit .292/.326/.345 with 3 HR, 135 RBI, 284 R, 169 SB in 589 games. He was originally drafted by the Twins with the 28th pick of the first round in 2007 and traded to the Phillies in 2012. Revere turned 27 on May 3rd.

RHP Cordero had split 2015 between Class A Advanced Dunedin and Double A New Hampshire. He was 0-1, 2.49 ERA, 24 K, 1.18 WHIP, .250 BAA, 1 SV in 25.1 IP over 15 games at Dunedin and 0-0, 2.92 ERA, 22 K, 1.22 WHIP, .182 BAA, 1 SV in 24.2 IP over 17 games at New Hampshire. He originally signed with the Blue Jays in 2012 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Cordero will be 24 on October 19.

RHP Tirado pitched at Dunedin where he was 4-3, 3.23 ERA, 61 K, 1.30 WHIP, .213 BAA, 3 SV in 61.1 IP over 31 games. He originally signed with the Blue Jays in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Tirado turned 20 on December 10.
