Sandy Leon traded to Red Sox
Sandy Leon was traded by the Washington Nationals to the Boston Red Sox on March 30, 2015 for cash. The catcher split 2014 between Triple A Syracuse and the Nationals. He hit .229/.321/.371 with 5 HR, 25 RBI, 26 R, 1 SB in 51 games at Syracuse and .156/.229/.219 with 1 HR, 3 RBI, 7 R, 0 SB in 20 games with the Nationals. Over three MLB seasons with the Nationals he hit .189/.280/.253 with 1 HR, 5 RBI, 9 R, 0 SB in 34 games. He originally signed with the Nationals in 2007 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Leon turned 26 on March 13.
