Dan Johnson traded to the Reds
Dan Johnson was traded by the Houston Astros to the Cincinnati Reds on March 26, 2015 for a PTBNL or cash. The first baseman split 2014 between Triple A Buffalo and the Blue Jays before signing with the Astros as a free agent in December. He hit .232/.381/.434 with 18 HR, 56 RBI, 62 R, 0 SB in 107 games at Buffalo and .211/.333/.342 with 1 HR, 7 RBI, 8 R, 0 SB in 15 games with the Blue Jays. Over nine MLB seasons with the Blue Jays, Orioles, White Sox, Rays and Athletics he has hit .236/.337/.409 with 57 HR, 201 RBI, 178 R, 1 SB in 431 games. He was originally drafted by the Athletics in the seventh round in 2001. Johnson will be 36 on August 10.
