Matt den Dekker was traded by the New York Mets to the Washington Nationals on March 30, 2015. The Mets in exchange received Jerry Blevins.
Outfielder de Dekker split 2014 between Triple A Las Vegas and the Mets. He hit .334/.407/.540 with 8 HR, 46 RBI, 70 R, 9 SB in 93 games at Las Vegas and .250/.345/.322 with 0 HR, 7 RBI, 23 R, 7 SB in 53 games with the Mets. Over two MLB seasons with the Mets he hit .238/.325/.310 with 1 HR, 13 RBI, 30 R, 11 SB in 80 games. He was originally drafted by the Mets in the fifth round in 2010. den Dekker will be 28 on August 10.
LHP Blevins in 2014 was 2-3, 4.87 ERA, 66 K, 1.24 WHIP, .229 BAA in 57.1 IP over 64 games with the Nationals. Over nine MLB seasons with the Mets, Nationals and Athletics he is 16-9, 3.53 ERA, 309 K, 1.20 WHIP, .229 BAA, 2 SV in 329.1 IP over 352 games. He was originally drafted by the Cubs in the 17th round in 2004. Blevins will be 32 on September 6th.
