Tigers clinch playoff spot 2012

The Detroit Tigers clinched an AL playoff spot and claimed the AL Central crown with a 6-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals on October 1st. The win pushed their record to 87-73 as they have a three game lead over the Chicago White Sox with two games to play. The Oakland Athletics claimed the final wild card spot the same day.
