Tigers advance Athletics out ALDS 2012

The AL Central Champs Detroit Tigers knocked the wild card Oakland Athletics out of the AL playoffs. Justin Verlander dominated the Athletics in a complete game shut out as the Tigers won the deciding game 6-0. Verlander's line was 9.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 11 K in 122 pitches. Austin Jackson and Omar Infante provided most of the offense as Jackson was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs while Infante was 2 for 3 with 2 runs, a steal and a walk. The Tigers will next play the winner of the New York Yankees\Baltimore Orioles series.
