Cardinals claim playoff spot 2012
The St Louis Cardinals claimed the last remaining NL playoff spot on October 2nd. The defending champs lost to the Cincinnati Reds 3-1 earlier in the day but backed in when the San Francisco Giants defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3. The Cardinals are 87-74 and ten games behind the Reds. They will play the Atlanta Braves in a one game wild card game.
