Orioles win AL Wild Card Game 2012

The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Texas Rangers 5-1 in the American League Wild Card game. Joe Saunders was the winning pitcher as his line was 5.2 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K in 77 pitches. J J Hardy had the big bat for the Orioles going 2 for 5 with an RBI and runs scored. The Rangers bats were active as Ian Kinsler, Elvis Andrus, Nelson Cruz and Michael Young all had two hits but left 8 runners on base including 3 in the ninth. The Orioles next host the New York Yankees on Sunday to start their ALDS series.
