Billy Burns traded to Royals

Billy Burns was traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Kansas City Royals on July 30, 2016. The Athletics in exchange received Brett Eibner. 

Burns is an outfielder who had split 2016 between Triple A Nashville and the Athletics in 2016. He hit .293/.326/.317 with 0 HR, 4 RBI, 7 R, 4 SB in 10 games at Nashville and .234/.270/.303 with 0 HR, 12 RBI, 32 R, 14 SB in 73 games with the Athletics. Over three MLB seasons with the Athletics he hit .273/.311/.360 with 5 HR, 54 RBI, 106 R, 43 SB in 211 games. He was originally drafted by the Nationals in the 32nd round in 2011 and traded to the Athletics in 2013. Burns will be 27 on August 30.

Eibner is an outfielder who had split 2016 between Triple A Omaha and the Royals. He hit .288/.385/.516 with 11 HR, 32 RBI, 37 R, 5 SB in 50 games at Omaha and .231/.286/.423 with 3 HR, 10 RBI, 11 R, 0 SB in 26 games with the Royals. He was originally drafted by the Royals in the second round in 2010. Eibner turned 27 on December 2nd.
