Shelby Miller traded to Diamondbacks

Shelby Miller was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Arizona Diamondbacks on December 9, 2015 along with Gabe Speier. The Braves in exchange received Ender Inciarte, Aaron Blair and Dansby Swanson.

RHP Miller was 6-17, 3.02 ERA, 171 K, 1.25 WHIP, .238 BAA in 205.1 IP over 33 games with the Braves in 2015. Over five MLB seasons with the Diamondbacks, Braves and Cardinals he is 32-36, 3.36 ERA, 493 K, 1.25 WHIP, .237 BAA in 590.0 IP over 106 games with 100 GS. He was originally drafted by the Cardinals with the 19th pick of the first round in 2009 and traded to the Braves in 2014. Miller will be 26 on October 10.

LHP Speier pitched at Class A West Michigan in 2015 where he was 4-2, 2.86 K, 36 K, 1.18 WHIP, .240 BAA in 44.0 IP over 33 games. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox in the 19th round in 2013, traded to the Tigers in 2014 and traded to the Braves in November 2015. Speier turned 21 on April 12.

Inciarte is an outfielder who split 2015 between Rookie Arizona and Double A Mobile while rehabbing and the Diamondbacks. He hit .400/.500/.400 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 2 games at Arizona, .300/.391/.600 with 1 HR, 1 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 5 games at Mobile and .303/.338/.408 with 6 HR, 45 RBI, 73 R, 21 SB in 132 games with the Diamondbacks. Over two MLB seasons with the Diamondbacks he hit .292/.329/.386 with 10 HR, 72 RBI, 127 R, 40 SB in 250 games. He originally signed with the Diamondbacks in 2008 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Inciarte will be 26 on October 29.

RHP Blair split 2015 between Mobile and Triple A Reno. He was 6-3, 2.70 ERA, 64 K, 1.12 WHIP, .231 BAA in 83.1 IP over 13 games at Mobile and 7-2, 3.16 ERA, 56 K, 1.22 WHIP, .236 BAA in 77.0 IP over 13 games at Reno. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the 36th pick of the first round in 2013. Blair will be 24 on May 26. 

Swanson is a shortstop who played in 2015 at Class A Hillsboro where he hit .289/.394/.482 with 1 HR, 11 RBI, 19 R, 0 SB in 22 games. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the first overall pick in 2015. Swanson turned 22 on February 11.
