Cameron Maybin traded to Tigers

Cameron Maybin was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Detroit Tigers on November 20, 2015. The Braves in exchange received Ian Krol and Gabe Speier. 

Maybin is an outfielder who hit .267/.327/.370 with 10 HR, 59 RBI, 65 R, 23 SB in 141 games with the Braves in 2015. Over nine MLB seasons with the Braves, Padres, Marlins and Tigers he hit .251/.313/.366 with 42 HR, 209 RBI, 338 R, 116 SB in 702 games. He was originally drafted by the Tigers with the 10th pick of the first round in 2005, traded to the Marlins in 2007, traded to the Padres in 2010 and traded to the Braves in April 2015. Maybin turned 28 on April 4th.

LHP Krol split 2015 between Triple A Toledo and the Tigers. He was 1-1, 2.30 ERA, 34 K, 1.09 WHIP, .186 BAA, 1 SV in 31.1 IP over 28 games at Toledo and 2-3, 5.79 ERA, 26 K, 1.71 WHIP, .287 BAA in 28.0 IP over 33 games with the Tigers. Over three MLB seasons with the Tigers and Nationals he was 4-4, 4.91 ERA, 76 K, 1.58 WHIP, .287 BAA, 1 SV in 88.0 IP over 110 games. He was originally drafted by the Athletics in the seventh round in 2009, traded to the Nationals in March 2013 and traded to the Tigers in December 2013. Krol turned 24 on May 9th.

LHP Speier pitched in 2015 at Class A West Michigan where he was 4-2, 2.86 ERA, 36 K, 1.18 WHIP, .240 BAA in 44.0 IP over 33 games. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox in the 19th round in 2013 and traded to the Tigers in 2014. Speier turned 20 on April 12.
