Brad Miller was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Tampa Bay Rays on November 5, 2015 along with Logan Morrison and Danny Farquhar. The Mariners in exchange received Nathan Karns, C.J. Riefenhauser and Boog Powell.
Miller is a SS/2B/OF who hit .258/.329/.402 with 11 HR, 46 RBI, 44 R, 13 SB in 144 games with the Mariners. Over three MLB seasons with the Mariners he hit .248/.313/.394 with 29 HR, 118 RBI, 132 R, 22 SB in 343 games. He was originally drafted by the Mariners in the second round in 2011. Miller turned 26 on October 18.
Morrison is a 1B\OF who hit .225/.302/.383 with 17 HR, 54 RBI, 47 R, 8 SB in 146 games with the Mariners. Over six MLB seasons with the Mariners and Marlins he has hit .246/.326/.416 with 70 HR, 254 RBI, 247 R, 16 SB in 608 games. He was originally drafted by the Marlins in the 22nd round in 2005 and traded to the Mariners in 2013. Morrison turned 28 on August 25.
RHP Farquhar split 2015 between Triple A Tacoma and the Mariners. He was 1-1, 3.08 ERA, 41 K, 1.32 WHIP, .272 BAA, 3 SV in 38.0 IP over 27 games with 1 GS and 1-8, 5.12 ERA, 48 K, 1.37 WHIP, .266 BAA, 1 SV in 51.0 IP over 43 games. Over four MLB seasons with the Mariners and Blue Jays he was 4-12, 3.96 ERA, 209 K, 1.24 WHIP, .237 BAA, 18 SV in 179.2 IP over 158 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 10th round in 2008. Farquhar will be 29 on February 17.
RHP Karns was 7-5, 3.67 ERA, 145 K, 1.28 WHIP, .239 BAA in 147.0 IP over 27 games with the Rays in 2015. Over three MLB seasons with the Rays and Nationals he was 8-7, 4.00 ERA, 169 K, 1.30 WHIP, .240 BAA in 171.0 IP over 32 games. He was originally drafted by the Nationals in the 12th round in 2009 and traded to the Rays in 2014. Karns will be 28 on November 25.
LHP Riefenhauser split 2015 between Class A Advanced Charlotte, Triple A Durham and the Rays. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 K, 2.00 WHIP, .000 BAA in 1.0 IP in 1 game at Charlotte, 4-2, 2.86 ERA, 34 K, 0.92 WHIP, .200 BAA, 1 SV in 34.2 IP over 29 games at Durham and 1-0, 5.52 ERA, 7 K, 1.50 WHIP, .283 BAA in 14.2 IP over 17 games with the Rays. Over two MLB seasons with the Rays he was 1-0, 6.30 ERA, 9 K, 1.55 WHIP, .284 BAA in 20.0 IP over 24 games. He was originally drafted by the Rays in the 20th round in 2010. Riefenhauser will be 26 on January 30.
Powell is an outfielder who split 2015 between Double A Montgomery and Triple A Durham. He hit .328/.408/.416 with 1 HR, 22 RBI, 44 R, 11 SB in 61 games at Montgomery and .257/.360/.364 with 2 HR, 18 RBI, 22 R, 7 SB in 56 games at Durham. He was originally drafted by the Athletics in the 20th round in 2012 and traded to the Rays in February 2015. Powell will be 23 on January 14.
