Aaron Hicks traded to Yankees

Aaron Hicks was traded by the Minnesota Twins to the New York Yankees on November 11, 2015. The Twins in exchange received John Ryan Murphy.

Hicks is an outfielder who split 2015 between Triple A Rochester and the Twins. He hit .342/.405/.544 with 3 HR, 20 RBI, 26 R, 2 SB in 38 games at Rochester and .256/.323/.398 with 11 HR, 33 RBI, 48 R, 13 SB in 97 games with the Twins. Over three MLB seasons with the Twins he hit .225/.306/.349 with 20 HR, 78 RBI, 107 R, 26 SB in 247 games. He was originally drafted by the Twins with the 14th pick of the first round in 2008. Hicks turned 26 on October 2nd. 

Murphy is a catcher who hit .277/.327/.406 with 3 HR, 14 RBI, 21 R, 0 SB in 67 games with the Yankees in 2015. Over three MLB seasons with the Yankees he hit .267/.311/.374 with 4 HR, 24 RBI, 31 R, 0 SB in 115 games. His MLB caught stealing rate is 30%. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in the second round in 2009. Murphy turned 24 on May 13.
