Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs was named the 2015 National League Rookie of the Year after receiving all 30 first place votes by the Baseball Writers Association of America for a total of 150 points. Others receiving votes were Matt Duffy of the Giants with 70 points, Jung Ho Kang (Pirates, 28), Noah Syndergaard (Mets, 16), Justin Bour (Marlins, 4), Joc Pederson (Dodgers, 1) and Stephen Piscotty (Cardinals, 1).
The 3B/OF split 2015 between Triple A Iowa and the Cubs. He hit .321/.364/.679 with 3 HR, 10 RBI, 7 R, 2 SB in 7 games at Iowa and .275/.369/.488 with 26 HR, 99 RBI, 87 R, 13 SB in 151 games with the Cubs. He was originally drafted by the Cubs with the second pick of the first round in 2013. Bryant will be 24 on January 4th.
